Psalms of Summer: Week 4- Psalm 30 (Dedication)
PASTOR ALAN DUNCALFE   -

King David wanted to be the one who built the stone temple, but he Lord would not allow it because David had been a warrior. The task fell to his son Solomon. Instead, David accumulates the wealth, gold, silver and bronze and other precious metals and stones, and lumber. Perhaps his greatest contribution was this Psalm of dedication. David reminds Israel of God’s unfailing mercy, love and help, then he calls all of God’s people to worship Him with dancing and songs of joy. David calls us to dedicate ourselves to the Lord, because ultimately, God does not dwell in temples built by the hand of humans.
