Give Thanks: Part 1- Shout with Joy to the Lord
  -
For three weeks, beginning today, we will pause our regular Sunday sermon series to take time to give God thanks for His goodness to us. For three weeks we will focus on the glorious Psalm of Thanksgiving, Psalm 100. It goes like this: Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. Now, the mark of true Christians is that they have good reason to sing and shout with joy to the Lord, for He is their sovereign God who rules supremely and provides generously for His people. However, the author, King David, gives this call to everyone on the earth. David is telling the earth that there is a God who loves His creation and is worthy of praise and gratitude. He proves His love and care over and over again. When will we see—when will the world see—how great and how good is our God?
