Acts: Part 35 – Nothing Stops the Word of God
Satan is enraged when the Scriptures are preached, yet Paul and Silas keep preaching with great risk to themselves. Charles Spurgeon once said, “The Word of God is like a lion. You don’t have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and the lion will defend itself.” This is what Paul is doing all over the world. He is simply proclaiming what the scriptures say. And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth. As a result, many Jews believed, as did many of the prominent Greek women and men. They discovered that Jesus is the promised Messiah of Scripture!
