Acts: Part 22 – God Reveals His Sovereignty
PASTOR ALAN DUNCALFE   -

Acts 12 begins with the martyrdom of the first Apostle.  King Herod Agrippa persecutes the church and has James, brother of John, publicly killed with the sword. It looks like the powers of hell are putting a stop to the spread of the Church. But what follows is a mighty display of the power of God in answer to the prayers of the early Church. Peter is imprisoned and is also slated for death. But God overrules and once again sends an angel to deliver Peter from prison. What follows next is the very powerful vengeance of God upon the blaspheming King Herod who receives worship from the people. God strikes him down publicly and is consumed by worms for all to see. Meanwhile, the word of God continued to spread, and there were many new believers.
